Proposed Arts District/Downtown Noise Ordinance Gets Shutdown

by BuskLV | September 1, 2025

The Las Vegas Arts District was in the crosshairs of having to quiet down by 10pm every night (excluding weekends). A new luxury real estate developer, Midtown Vegas, put pressure on the City of Las Vegas government to propose amending the existing noise ordinance which currently allows live music to go on until 2am nightly.

Thanks to vocal opposition and pressure from the arts district community, a possible change to the noise ordinance never made it onto a City of Las Vegas agenda— and more importantly, never into “law” [municipal code]. Everyday people came together to look out for their best interests rather than getting steamrolled by a multi-million dollar developer. The Arts District has recently become another venue for buskers and street art; and hopefully it stays that way.

“Based on the feedback we’ve received, the city of Las Vegas is not pursuing a change to the noise ordinance of the 18b Las Vegas Arts District.”
