you know what else? im an older dude and sometimes i need to rest and ive actually been told almost immediately by the police, that i cant sit down, even after explaining to the officer i just needed a rest, he said i understand but you can’t do that .. YOU CAN’T SIT DOWN TO REST ?? not to mention there’s nowhere to sit anyway so if you need a rest you’re sitting on the ground, this experience led me to not want to go hang out downtown. AND I LIVE HERE. i guess it’s illegal to sit and rest, also i mean it would be nice to just sit and people watch, but yeah, no sitting, apparently thats criminal. man, that is really cool. GO TEAM !
I am wondering how my show will be effected. My WHOLE show is done from my motorized wheelchair, nothing on the ground and i can perform while I am constantly moving!
Any thoughts or ideas on this?
I am a disabled veteran with one leg missing and the other doesnt work- I dont walk, i can not stand unassisted. Some may have seen me in front of the Venetian Resort fountains May June July and August. And I raised quite a stir at the knights victory parade! If you did see me, say hi!!

Disclaimer: the following suggestions do NOT constitute as legal advice and should NOT be viewed as such.
Suggestion: The new ordinance pertains only to elevated bridges (and an area 20ft in diameter from the bottom of stairs/elevators). You shouldn’t have an issue if you are on the street level.
Hmmm…Las Vegas has shot out The Buskman Signal into the night sky, I see…
Buskmaaaaan to the rescue! Nananananananaaaah, BUSKMAN!
Ok..do this, me fellow Busker!
Disguised as a tourist or local…approach the officer(s) on patrol and mention to them how much you love “that street performer over there” and point to the Busker.
Vegas Residents:
Get your friends and family to do this as you perform …and or ..as often as they are downtown. Engage the officer in respect and courtesy. Visit the local precinct and ask where the local street performers are. Tell them how you LOVE seeing live music and art on your way to your favourite place in Vegas.
When you see an officer on patrol…Come on to them as Clark W. Griswold would…”Hi officer! Im Clark! My wife Ellen and I are from Chicago! Where are the local street performers? We just LOVE to predict who the next Ed Sheeran will be! You know Ed was a street performer before he got big! Cirque de Sole and The Blue Man Group were too. Ellen called the blue guys you know! She never let’s me go on that one! Lol
Change the vibe on The Strip, guys and gals… from the pedestrian/visitor …position.
And Bam! BIFF! POW! ???…WE THE BUSKERS…ARE NOW THE “PROTECTED CLASS” THAT THE OFFICERS ARE CHARGED TO “PROTECT” informing them that Buskers ENHANCE the Vegas experience!
…never degrades it!
Do this as often as possible, my fellow Busker!
Feel free to add your ideas to my suggestion, too!
Now if you’ll excuse me?…I must busk. I see some depressed people in my hometown of BuskVille needing to “Forget About Life For A While!”-Billy Joel, The Piano Man

Thankfully the ACLU of Nevada has sued. Hopefully the ordinance will be reversed by the courts (though it will take time): https://busklv.info/2024/02/19/aclu-is-suing-civil-rights-org-says-pedestrian-flow-zone-ordinance-is-unconstitutional/
